서울국제음식영화제

70년대, 80년대 한국 영화를 대표하는 감독 가운데 한 사람이다. 이장호는 홍익대 건축과 재학 당시, 공보처 영화검열관이었던 아버지의 소개로 신필름 연출부에서 <천년호>(1969),<만종>(1970) 등에서 조감독으로 일한 뒤 1974년 최인호의 동명소설을 영화화한 <별들의 고향>으로 데뷔했다. <바람 불어 좋은 날>(1980),<바보 선언>(1983) 등 사회를 비판하는 블랙 코미디를 만들었으며, <무릎과 무릎 사이>(1984), <어우동>(1985), <이장호의 외인구단>(1986)이 연이어 흥행하면서 흥행감독으로 변신했다. 1990년대 후반부터는 부천국제판타스틱영화제 집행위원장, 전주대학교 영화영상전공 교수, 서울영상위원회 위원장 등의 일을 하면서 지금까지도 왕성하게 활동하고 있다.

Lee Jang-ho is one of the most important directors of Korean films in the '70s and '80s. He worked as an assistant director at the Shin Film production department in Thousand Years Old Fox (1969) and An Evening Bell (1970), and made his debut in 1974 with Heavenly Homecoming to Stars, a film adaptation of Choi In-ho's novel. He created black comedies that criticize society such as Good Windy Days (1980) and Declaration of Idiot (1983), and became a box office director with the success of Between The Knees (1984), Eoh Wu-dong (1985) and Lee Jang-ho's Baseball Team (1986). Since the late 1990s, he has been active in his duties as festival director of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, professor at Jeonju University, and chairman of the Seoul Film Commission.
