시놉시스Synopsis
아루나는 음식 먹는 걸 즐기고 음식에 관심이 많은 미혼 여성이다. 역학자인 그녀는 인도네시아 여러 지역에서 발생한 조류독감 조사를 위해 파견된다. 아루나의 여정에 그녀의 절친인 보노와 나드가 합류하면서 아루나의 지루할뻔한 업무 출장은 흥미진진한 전국 맛집 탐방 여행의 기회로 탈바꿈힌다. 그러나 우연히 과거 그녀가 짝사랑했던 남자 파리시와 조우하면서 그녀의 여행은 매우 개인적으로 변한다. 네 사람은 여행을 함께 하며 여러 지역을 다양한 음식을 맛보고 인생에 관해 이야기 한다. 그들이 인도네이사의 요리 예술을 즐기는 사이, 조류독감 바이러스에 대한 비밀이 서서히 밝혀지기 시작한다. 저명한 인도네시아 작가 락스미 파문차크의 소설을 바탕으로 만들어진 작품이다.
Aruna is a single woman who is passionate about food. During her work as an epidemiologist assigned to investigate bird flu outbreaks in various cities in Indonesia. She is joined by her best friends Bono and Nad and the trio uses the business trip as an opportunity to go on a culinary adventure. However, Aruna’s trip becomes personal when she unexpectedly bumps into her secret crush, Farish. As the four friends relish the art of Indonesian cuisine, secrets about the flu virus start to be unveiled. Based on a novel by the award-winning author Laksmi Pamuntjak.

1978년 인도네시아 수라바야에서 출생했다. 2005년 단편 <Kara, the Daughter of a Tree>이 칸영화제 감독주간에 초청됐고 2009년에 만든 단편 <Trip to the Wound>는 베를린국제영화제 단편 영화 부문에서 상영됐다. 첫 장편 작품인 <날고 싶은 눈 먼 돼지>(2008)는 2009 로테르담영화제에서 FIPRESCI상을 수상했으며 두 번째 장편 영화 <동물원에서 온 엽서>(2012)는 2012 베를린국제영화제 경쟁부문에 초청됐다. 2017년 연출한 <Posesif>으로 같은 해 인도네시아영화제에서 감독상을 수상했으며 <아루나의 미각>(2018)은 2019년 베를린국제영화제 음식영화 부문에서 상영됐다.
Born in 1980 in Surabaya, Indonesia. His 2005 short film Kara, <Kara, the Daughter of a Tree> was the first Indonesian work to screen in the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. In 2009, his short <Trip to the Wound> screened in Berlinale Shorts. In the same year, his debut feature film, <Blind Pig Who Wants to Fly>, won the FIPRESCI Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His second feature, <Postcards from the Zoo>, premiered in the 2012 Berlinale Competition. <Posesif> won him Best Director at the 2017 Festival Film Indonesia and <Aruna & Her Palate> (2018) was shown in Culinary section at Berlinale in 2019.
