서울국제음식영화제

1861년 프랑스 파리 출생. 초기 영화 시대의 실험자이자 개척자이며 가상의 이야기를 필름에 담아낸 첫 번째 인물이다. 직업 마술사로 살다가 1895년 뤼미에르 형제가 만든 ‘움직이는 영상’을 처음 본 후, 자신만의 창의적인 작업들을 진행하고 상영했다. ‘페이드 인’, ‘페이드 아웃’ 같은 기술을 처음으로 자신의 영화에 사용했으며, 500편이 넘는 영화를 만들었다.

Georges MÉLIÈS was born in 1861. He was early French experimenter and pioneer with, the first to film fictional narratives. He, a professional magician by training, first saw the new "moving pictures" made by The LUMIÈRE brothers in 1895. Little over a year later, MÉLIÈS was filming and projecting his own creations. He was also the first to use techniques such as the fade-in, the fade-out, and the dissolve to create the first real narrative films. MÉLIÈS made over 500 films.
