서울국제음식영화제

웬디 틸비는 밴쿠버의 에밀리 카 예술 디자인 기관에서 영화와 애니메이션을 전공했다. 1986년 졸업 영화인 <Tables of Content>의 성공으로 캐나다 국립영화위원회의 초청을 받아 첫 번째 영화인 <Strings>(1991)를 제작하게 된다. 이 영화는 캐나다 지니 어워드에서 여러 상을 수상하고 아카데미상 후보에도 올랐다. 캐나다 국립영화위원회는 또 틸비와 공동 감독인 아만다 포비스가 제작한 세 편의 애니메이션 단편 <아침이 밝아올 때> (1999), <Wild Life> (2011) 및 <The Flying Sailor> (2022)를 제작했다. 세 작품 모두 수많은 국제 상을 수상했으며 오스카상 후보에도 올랐다. 틸비는 4개의 아카데미상 후보에 오른 유일한 캐나다 국립영화위원회 출신 영화제작자다.
Wendy Tilby studied film and animation at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver. The success of her 1986 graduation film, Tables of Content, led to an invitation from the NFB to produce her acclaimed first film, Strings (1991), which won several prizes, among a Genie as well as a nomination for an Academy Award. The NFB went on to produce three animated shorts made by Tilby and co-director Amanda Forbis: When the Day Breaks (1999), Wild Life (2011) and The Flying Sailor (2022). All three have won numerous international awards and garnered an Oscar nomination. Tilby is the only NFB filmmaker who has received four Academy Award nominations.

아만다 포비스Amanda Forbis

캐나다 출신인 아만다 포비스는 레스브리지 대학교에서 연극과 미술을 공부한 후 에밀리 카 예술 디자인 학교에서 영화, 비디오, 애니메이션을 전공했다. 1995년에는 캐나다 국립영화위원회에서 교육용 영화<The Reluctant Deckhand>에서 애니메이션을 담당했다. 포비스는 벤쿠버의 Arts Umbrella Children's Art Center에서 강사로도 일했으며, 현재 어린이들을 위한 수많은 애니메이션 워크샵을 운영하고 있다. 
Amanda Forbis was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1963. She studied theatre and fine art at University of Lethbridge before attending the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design where her major was film, video, and animation. She joined the National Film Board of Canada (Vancouver) in 1990 as animation director on an educational film titled The Reluctant Deckhand. Forbis has also worked as an instructor at the Arts Umbrella Children's Art Centre in Vancouver, and has led numerous animation workshops for children.
