시놉시스Synopsis
루이 뤼미에르가 연출, 제작한 영상으로 형 오귀스트 뤼미에르와 그의 아내, 그리고 어린 딸 앙드레가 교외에서 식사를 하는 모습을 담은 무성영화다. 1895년 12월 28일 프랑스 파리의 그랑 카페에서 열린 뤼미에르 형제의 세계 최초 유료 영화 상영회에서 소개된 10편의 시네마토그라프 영화 가운데 일곱 번째로 상영된 작품이다.
Directed and produced by Louis Lumière, Baby's Dinner consists of one shot of Auguste Lumière, his wife and baby daughter Andrée having breakfast in the countryside. It was the seventh among the ten short films screened at the first commercial presentation of the Lumière Cinématographe on December 28, 1895, at the Grand Café in Paris.

‘영화의 아버지’로 불리는 루이 뤼미에르는 1864년 프랑스 브장송에서 태어났다. 아버지의 사진 스튜디오에서 일하면서 형 오귀스트와 함께 사진 건판 ‘블루 레이블’을 개발했다. 이어 1895년, 파리에서 형제가 함께 개발한 영화 촬영 카메라 겸 영사기인 ‘시네마토그라프’를 공개했다. 일생 동안 시네마토그라프 영상이 담긴 수천 편의 단편 영화를 만들었고, 1948년 6월 6일 프랑스 방돌에서 숨을 거뒀다.
Louis LUMIÈRE was born on October 5, 1864, in Besançon, France. While working in his father's photography studio, he helped develop the "blue label" photographic plate. In 1895, Louis demonstrated their next invention, the Cinematograph motion picture camera, in Paris. Over the remainder of his lifetime, he directed thousands of reels of Cinematograph footage. He died on June 6, 1948, in Bandol, France.
